Two wheels change the build

A Technic car hides its mechanics under panels; a bike wears them on the outside. The chain, the engine, the fork - everything you build stays visible in the finished model, which makes this one of the most honest builds in the theme. It is also a different kind of engineering: keeping a two-wheeler looking right takes geometry that box-shaped cars never have to solve.

Who it suits

Motorcycle people, first and foremost - this reads as a bike model that happens to be LEGO, not the other way round. It is also a strong pick for builders who found the car sets repetitive: the afternoon it takes to build feels genuinely different from any four-wheeled Technic.

Worth knowing first

This is a display piece, not a toy - it holds a pose on the kickstand far better than it survives being played with. The build is an afternoon rather than a weekend, so if you measure value in hours at the table, the cars give you more. And as ever with Technic bodywork, expect visible gaps between the fairing panels.

Those pistons size are telling me that creator expert with a working engine is possible

To be completely honest, I love those clicky fake engines made with the axles, to me it sounds like the engine is going high and heating up!

Thank you for the review RacingBrick! This is the only Lego technic set I want from the March lineup. It looks really awesome and detailed and full of playable functions. The only problem is the pricing. It should have been $50USD because it’s a 600 piece set. I can’t wait to get it!

The best-looking way to put two wheels on a Technic shelf, and a refreshing build in a theme full of cars. Pair it with the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut 42173 for a desk-sized garage, or go all-in on the Ferrari Daytona SP3 42143 if the mechanical deep end is calling.
