LEGO Star Wars Chewbacca 75371 Review: 2,319 Pieces of Wookiee
Star Wars ยท Buildable Figure
Most Star Wars sets are ships. This one is a Wookiee. The LEGO Star Wars Chewbacca 75371 is a 2,319-piece, 18+ buildable figure that launched at $199.99 in September 2023 and, according to Brickset, left shelves at the end of 2024. It comes with a Chewbacca minifigure for scale and a bowcaster for the big one.

What you actually get
- 2,319 pieces, rated 18+, at an original US price of $199.99 - 8.6 cents per piece, low for a licensed Star Wars set and very low for one this tall.
- A brick-built Chewbacca in shades of brown with a posable head and arms, the bandolier across the chest and a bowcaster he can actually hold.
- A display stand with an information plaque, the standard for the 18+ Star Wars character line, plus one Chewbacca minifigure to stand beside the model.
- Retired since the end of 2024 per Brickset, so what you find now is remaining stock and marketplace listings rather than list price.
How does it compare with the other 18+ Star Wars figures?
LEGO’s adult Star Wars line is mostly droids and helmets. Chewbacca is the odd one out: organic, furry, and built from a texture of brown slopes and tiles that takes far more pieces than a smooth droid does. That’s why 2,319 pieces buys you one character. The result is the tallest figure in that line and the one that photographs best from across a room.
If you prefer the mechanical look, our R2-D2 75308 review covers the droid with almost the same piece count and a very different build. The two look made for each other on a shelf.
Is LEGO Chewbacca 75371 worth it?
At list price it was one of the best-value adult Star Wars sets of its year, and a fan who wanted a Wookiee on the shelf had nothing else to choose from. Now that it has retired, the answer depends on the listing: anywhere near the original $199.99 is a clear yes; well above it, the set’s uniqueness is the only argument, and that’s a collector’s argument, not a builder’s.
Who it suits
Adult fans of the original trilogy who want a character rather than a vehicle, and anyone who already owns a droid or two from the line. The build is repetitive in places - fur is fur - so it suits people who enjoy a long, calm build over a clever one. Less suited to kids: it doesn’t play, and it’s heavy enough to hurt when it falls.
Worth knowing first
Two practical notes. First, the finished figure is tall and front-heavy; the stand handles it, but give it a shelf that doesn’t get bumped. Second, brown LEGO elements show dust more than most colours - this is a set you’ll want to keep off the top shelf, or accept a soft brush as part of the ownership.
What builders say
We have not built this one ourselves. These are real comments from builders who have, taken from a public YouTube review.

It's an absolute travesty that this set doesn't have cake like the model at Disney springs. If this Chewbacca was double cheeked/caked up it'd be worth $200
Honestly they should do a cool buildable C-3PO in the same scale, would look stellar alongside buildable R2, however Iโm not sure how Lego would do all the robotic details and make it look accurate.
$200 is a lot but i have to be honest for a character thats all fur this turned out better than i expected. Creating chewy in plastic has always been an issue . fur isnt easy in plastic lol
Verdict
The only big Wookiee LEGO has made: 2,319 pieces, a posable figure, a minifigure and a plaque, retired since 2024. Buy near list price or not at all. For where it sits among everything we’ve rated, see the best LEGO sets for adults. Check the current price of Chewbacca on Amazon.
