LEGO Creator Expert Gingerbread House 10267 Review: 1,477 Pieces of Christmas
Creator Expert ยท Winter Village
Every December the same set climbs back up the wish lists. The LEGO Creator Expert Gingerbread House 10267 is 1,477 pieces of candy-coated cottage that launched at $99.99 in October 2019, retired at the end of 2021, and has been a marketplace-only set ever since. It’s still the one Winter Village build people ask about first.

What you actually get
- 1,477 pieces, rated 12+, with an original US price of $99.99 - 6.8 cents per piece at launch. Today you’re paying marketplace prices, so check the listing before you fall in love.
- A gingerbread cottage in brown, white and candy colours: frosted roof tiles, candy-cane columns, a gumdrop garden and a chimney, with a furnished interior you reach by lifting the roof off.
- Two minifigures unique to this set, a gingerbread man and gingerbread woman, plus a light brick that makes the fireplace glow - the detail everyone photographs.
- Part of the Winter Village Collection, so it sits at the same scale as the other Christmas builds and looks right next to them.
How does it compare with the other Winter Village sets?
Most Winter Village sets are snowy versions of ordinary buildings - a post office, a fire station, a toy shop. The Gingerbread House is the only one that looks edible, and that’s why it has aged better than the rest of the line. It doesn’t depend on a theme year; it’s simply the Christmas set that reads as Christmas from across the room.
It is also a smaller, gentler build than the big Creator Expert models. If you want the same age rating with far more engineering, look at the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 42138 instead; if you want something to put under the tree rather than on it, this is the one.
Is LEGO Gingerbread House 10267 worth it?
At its original $99.99 it was one of the easiest yes answers in the range. At marketplace prices it depends on the number in front of you: as a seasonal display piece with a unique pair of minifigures and a light brick, it holds its value well, and it is the set most likely to get built every single December. Pay collector prices only if you’ll actually display it every year.
Who it suits
Families who build one set together every Christmas, and anyone collecting the Winter Village line who skipped 2019. The 12+ rating is honest: a competent ten-year-old can build it with an adult nearby. Less suited to buyers who want a year-round display, and to anyone who dislikes brown bricks - there are a lot of them.
Worth knowing first
Two practical notes. First, prices on retired seasonal sets peak in November and December - if you want it for this Christmas, buying in September or October is the cheaper window. Second, on marketplace listings look for the word “sealed” and photos of the actual box; a five-year-old set sold as “complete” may be missing the light brick, which is the piece you cannot easily replace.
What builders say
We have not built this one ourselves. These are real comments from builders who have, taken from a public YouTube review.

One of the first Jang videos I came across after my dark age. Though the first time I saw it was when this set was new.
Verdict
The Christmas set that outlived its own retirement: 1,477 pieces, two minifigures you get nowhere else, and a glowing fireplace. Buy it early in the season, not in December.
