Ask a kid what happens at an airport and you get a whole story - the bus, the bags, the food cart, the takeoff. The LEGO City Passenger Airplane 60367 builds that entire story in 913 pieces: a 47-centimetre jet plus the five ground vehicles that keep it flying.

The interior is the toy

Plenty of toy planes look great closed and empty. This one is built for the top to come away so small hands can board passengers, roll the food trolley down the aisle and act out the whole flight. That is where the set lives day to day - the flying is thirty seconds, the boarding drama is the afternoon.

The apron crew makes the airport

The five vehicles are the difference between owning a plane and owning an airport. The pushback tug actually positions the jet, the bus delivers passengers, the loader brings the bags - it is a complete ground operation, and it is exactly the part adult reviewers underrate and kids do not.

Worth knowing first

At 47 cm long with a wide wingspan, the finished plane needs proper floor space and a home that is not a bookshelf. The white livery uses a fair number of stickers, so a patient adult on decal duty helps. And it is a play set through and through - display builders should look at the adult lineup instead.

It’s definitely a major upgrade from the last passenger plane, and the color scheme is plenty attractive to me

When people complain about things like the v-tail I’d like to remind them that it’s Lego and you can customize it how you see fit

Someday, it would be great to see Lego make a passenger plane that comes with a boarding tunnel. I could see it happening if they released a large-scale airport at the same time that could connect to it. Both sets would probably have to be pretty expensive, though.

Verdict

The best airport-in-a-box LEGO currently makes, and one of those City sets that gets played with for years. It pairs naturally with the City Police Station 60316 for a growing city layout - and for younger siblings not ready for 913 pieces, the DUPLO 3-in-1 Tree House keeps everyone building at the same table.
